The Workday Functional Manager will be responsible for leading a global team of Workday functional support analysts, as well as driving process improvements & change initiatives. Workday modules include: Core HCM, Compensation, Talent Management, Absence Management, Benefits (NA).

Major Responsibilities

    • Manage a global team of Workday functional analysts - leading, mentoring, and counseling members of the team
    • Ensure day-to-day systems support is balanced with strategic enhancements and projects
    • Develop and promote continuous learning within the support team
    • Provide Workday subject matter functional expertise for day to day support and development including business process configuration, data upload (EIB), testing and other troubleshooting support
    • Provide Workday product expertise in the areas of Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Talent Management, Absence Management, Benefits (NA), and custom hierarchy design
    • Provide subject matter expertise on Workday best practices and partner with clients to understand pain points, prioritize requirements and identify opportunities to improve processes and gain efficiency by leveraging Workday functionality
    • Assist with bi-annual releases, including analysis of impacts of new functionality and cross functional analysis
    • Lead functional projects and configuration activities for enhancements and new functionality in the HCM area
    • Maintain awareness of Workday future releases / roadmap and the potential impact of those plans on current and future HRIS functionality
    • Assess, manage, resolve and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues
    • Works closely with the Workday Integration/Reporting Manager to ensure business needs are met
    • Works closely with third party vendors for AMS support, and for testing support (Kainos, Jira, TestRail)

Knowledge, Work Experience & Education

    • 3 to 5 Years of Work-Related Experience
    • Completion of University Degree

Skills and Competencies

    • 3-5 year's hands on Workday functional experience
    • Project management experience with global Workday projects
    • Understanding of Workday implementation methodology
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical mind; demonstrated critical thinking and analytic skills with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information
    • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients' needs and situation
    • Proven leadership skills managing a global team, and leading, mentoring, counseling and managing their performance and training needs
    • Excellent collaborator and a team player
    • Well-developed root-cause analytical skills with the ability to configure and troubleshoot issues and defects
    • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
    • Understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management
    • Ability to understand business priorities and align technology opportunities
    • Ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Focus on quality and customer service
    • Preferred: Workday Functional Certifications; Workday Pro certification in one or multiple HCM modules, broad understanding of Workday cross functional touchpoints and their impacts within the Workday platforms, AMS experience

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer
  • Regular overnight travel 10-25% of the time
